Getonthesoapbox is the brain child of Amy Wragg.

 

Noticing the lack of poetry and local artist representation back in the early 00's, Amy created the scene she wanted to be a part of.

 

Passionately putting poetry and creativity at the forefront of everything she does. Soapbox is a independent produced of spoken word, poetry and music events. Not only this, Sopabox also creates artwork and decor out of recycled materials. Everyone of Amy's gigs looks like something out a fairytale, and you are guaranteed discover something you love there.

Kicking off from 6pm with the 'Vogon Poetry Slam' - 

[2 minutes per person, worst poem wins, audience chooses the winner].

Soapbox Open Mic - Open to all abilities. All words welcome.

Finishing up with a Poetry Disco with tunes from all your favourite poets, think Kae Tempest, Scroobius Pip & Gill Scott Heron.
